High potential and gifted education

At our school, we give the right support to help advanced or talented learners grow and do their best.

We notice these students early. They may learn quickly or show strong skills in creativity, leadership, problem solving or sport. We help them stay challenged with lessons and activities that match their strengths.

Religion and Ethics

At our school, students can take part in special religious education (SRE) or special education in ethics (SEE) classes, depending on what’s available. These classes are delivered by approved providers.

When enrolling your child, you’ll be able to choose an option from the approved providers offered at our school. Students not attending SRE or SEE are given supervised alternative meaningful activities.

You’re welcome to change your choice at any time. Just let us know in writing or use the online form.

Combined Christian
Combined Christian SRE is education in Christian beliefs and practices by teachers who, at this school, are authorised and trained by the following approved providers: Anglican Diocese of Sydney, Presbyterian Church of Australia (NSW). The curriculum used can be viewed at whysre.com.au and explores the good news about Jesus Christ found in the Bible and the depth of God’s love for people. Each lesson has been developed to be taught in an age-appropriate manner, in an inclusive manner. It offers students the chance to critically explore and deepen their faith, pray, and reflect.
Catholic Scripture

Catholic SRE teachers (also known as Catechists) are authorised by the local parish (St. Benedict’s, Broadway) and trained by the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney.

The Catholic SRE curriculum is approved by Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP of the Archdiocese of Sydney in liaison with religious education experts. Lessons include activities that are fun and inclusive for students, whilst also providing them the opportunity to critically explore in depth their faith and to pray and reflect. For more information about the Catholic SRE curriculum go to https://ccd.sydneycatholic.org/publications/curriculum-overview/.

Catholic SRE teachers teach from the Authorised Curriculum for the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney, titled “Christ Our Light and Life.”

Catholic SRE teachers engage young people in hearing the Good News about Jesus Christ and learning the key elements of our Christian life and culture.

Non Scripture
During the time that SRE/SEE classes are being held, students not attending will be located in a separate space and will participate in meaningful activities such as reading.
