NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.
You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.

Anglican Christian Scripture (SRE)
Anglican Christian Special Religious Education at Ultimo Public School is provided by Anglican teachers authorised and trained by the Anglican Diocese of Sydney, who are an approved SRE provider.
It is overseen by St Andrew's Cathedral, Sydney http://www.sydneycathedral.com/
The Anglican Christian SRE curriculum used is produced by Christian Education Publications and is approved by the Archdiocese of Sydney. Anglican Chrsitian SRE classes are open to all - the SRE classes assumes no religious background or commitment and help the children to know about God's teachings in the Bible, and the forgiveness and hope found in Jesus Christ.

Buddhist SRE
Buddhist SRE is provided by teachers who are authorised and trained by the Buddhist Council of NSW, who are an approved SRE provider.

Islamic Special Religious Instruction
Islamic Instruction teachers are authorised and trained by the Islamic Council of NSW(ICNSW)and approved by the Islamic Special Religious Education Organisation. The ISRE lessons provide a specifically tailored Islamic Education program for Muslim students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

Special Education In Ethics
SEE is provided by Primary Ethics. SEE teachers are trained to impartially facilitate student discussions, helping them develop their critical thinking and collaborative inquiry skills.

Non Scripture
